International Student Health Insurance

Need insurance while studying overseas? The Patriot Exchange plan is designed for international students, scholars, and study abroad students.

Select the country where you need coverage. If you will be traveling to multiple countries, choose your primary destination. Coverage is worldwide outside your home country, and not limited to your host country.
Date that coverage should begin. This date cannot be more than 6 months from today.
This date cannot be more than 12 months from the date coverage begins.

Seeking Treatment

Provider Search

Inside the USA, the plan uses the UnitedHealthcare Network and seeking treatment there will lower your out of pocket expenses and facilitate faster claims processing. Outside of the USA, you are free to seek medical care from any provider you wish or locate a provider using the IMG International Provider Access Search.

In-Person Visits

For in-person medical care, please locate a doctor, clinic, or hospital that is part of the network. It is recommended to search for a doctor, urgent care, or walk-in clinic as the best places to seek medical care.

Only use the Emergency Room (ER) in real emergency situations, as you will have to pay more to visit the ER in the USA.

Claim Form

For each new injury/illness, you will want to submit a fully completed claim form along with any receipts and prescriptions. This will expedite the processing of your claim, and you can track the progress of your claim in the Student Zone.
